Circular about extension of self-restraint of masses, meetings, etc. in Sapporo Diocese due to the spread of coronavirus infection (No. 6)

We have already announced in cir­cular No. 5 to all of you in the Sapporo Diocese that we will refrain from masses and meet­ings. Today (May 28^th) the gov­ern­ment has extended the dec­la­ra­tion issued to nine pre­fec­tures till June 20^th. In response to this, the Sapporo Diocese has decided to extend the con­tent of the pre­vious noti­fi­ca­tion in accor­dance with the gov­ern­ment’s instruc­tion in order to pre­vent the fur­ther spread of infec­tion.

Please con­tinue to follow the guide­lines for each region, “ Circular about self-restraint of masses, meet­ings, etc. in the Sapporo Diocese due to the spread of coro­n­avirus infec­tion (No. 5)”.

Summary

The exten­sion period is as fol­lows: June 1^st (Tuesday) to 20^th (Sunday)

This exten­sion could obscure the pres­ence of anyone in need of help more than ever. Please keep in touch with each other and sup­port each other so that the number of people in forced iso­la­tion suf­fering from lone­li­ness and anx­iety will not increase. Also, please cherish the spir­i­tual com­mu­nion and con­tinue to pray daily where you are.

Especially on Sundays, the bishops and other priests are offering masses for all the people in the parishes in the Sapporo Diocese, so please be united in your prayer.
