An English Mass will be held at Kita 1 jo Catholic Charch & Obihiro Catholic Church .
Please come and celebrate the great occasion with us

As you are aware the spread of the Corona Virus has seriously disrupted the lives of all of us, here in Japan and around the world. On February 25, following on a discussion with my consultors, I thought it best to ask the parishes in the Sapporo Diocese to refrain from having liturgical services for the following two weeks, February 27 (Thursday) to March 14 (Saturday). Since that time conditions have gone from bad to worse. Again, following on a discussion with my consultors, I have decided to extend the period of no liturgical services until April 4 (Saturday).

Let us continue to pray for those who have become ill with this virus, and continue to pray to Our Blessed Mother to intercede for all of us during this time.

Without the Holy Spirit, God is distant,
Christ remains in the past,
the Gospel is a dead letter,
the Church is just an organization,
authority a domination,
mission is propaganda,
worship a ceremonial,
and Christian way of life is a servitude.

But in him: the cosmos is uplifted and groans
in giving birth to the kingdom.
the risen Christ is here,
the Gospel throbs with life
the Church is communion in the Trinity,
authority is a liberating service,
mission a Pentecost,
the liturgy both memorial and anticipation,
and human life is deified.
